I love that the dog’s name is Hatfield.
This is the first page with a white background, right? Why the change, Ben?
There are a few composition techniques I intend to use in the future that I think will work better with white gutters. Depending on how well it works out, the print edition will either be all black or all white.
If it makes any difference, I really prefer the white.
It looks “cleaner” and brings out the panels more.
That being said of course, for those using fixed panels without overlap the black is good.
Which is what pretty much every other page has done to date.
I like it best when the background color is part of the artistic expression (for example black during sad parts or red during battles). I think you should decide on a page-by-page basis what background color to use.
